I am saddend by the passing of President Hinckley but happy that he is reunited with his wife.I can only imagine the feeling of overwhelming love abounding in the great celebration in paradise today. Although he will be greatly missed, he left an amazing legacy of service, faith, friendship, love, encouragement, humor, dedication & strength. He was a very spiritual man who was very real. He was able to speak to anyone of any age concerning the problems of the world. He could be serious or light hearted depending on what was needed. He spoke clearly and bluntly so there was never a mistake what he was teaching. There are many quotes, sayings and talks from President Hinckley that I love, especially things of encouragement. And his testimony...
"I hope that all of you will remember that on this Sabbath day you heard me bear my witness that this is God's holy work. The vision given the Prophet Joseph in the grove of Palmyra was not an imaginary thing. It was real. It occurred in the broad light of day. Both the Father and the Son spoke to the boy. He saw Them standing in the air above him. He heard Their voices. He gave heed to Their instruction. "It was the resurrected Lord who was introduced by His Father, the great God of the universe. For the first time in recorded history, both the Father and the Son appeared together to part the curtains and open this, the last and final dispensation, the dispensation of the fullness of times.
"The Book of Mormon is all that it purports to be—a work recorded by prophets who lived anciently and whose words have come forth "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations" (Book of Mormon title page).
"The priesthood has been restored under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John. All the keys and authority pertaining to eternal life are exercised in this Church.
"Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, the great Prophet of this dispensation. This Church, which carries the name of the Redeemer, is true.
"I leave you my testimony, my witness, and my love for each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
President Gordon B. Hinckley, April 1, 2006, Sunday morning session of the 176th Annual World General Conference

Thank you for posting his testimony! I think that the rain today matches my mood so well--the tears seem to come easily.
I enjoyed thinking about the joy on the other side as he greets so many friends and colleagues. And of course his beautiful wife, but most of all his Friend, the Savior, Jesus Christ.
I will miss him too!
What a neat post... makes me sad and happy! Last night when I heard the news, the kids were already asleep (Texas time!) and we debated waking them up to tell them. We decided to wait until morning, and they were sad to hear about it this morning, but thankful for what a great prophet he was!! I can just imagine the reunions going on in heaven right now!!!

I am so glad that he gets to join his sweet wife.
I was so sad to hear the news of his passing!! But I am too so excited for him to be with his wonderful wife again!! He will be greatly missed and remembered forever for his great work that he did on this earth!! He was such an amazing prophet with such a great sense of humor:)
Thanks for this post...he will be so missed. We're lucky to have been able to have our special Stake Conf. just a few weeks ago, where he addressed So. Cal. specifically. I have such mixed feelings today!
How can you read his testimony and not have your own strengthened through it? I am so thankful to have the church in my life and to be blessed with the opportunities we get to hear from such inspired men. Yesterday morning we were watching the news and I said look Porter they're talking about President Hinckley, he looked at the T.V. and said "See mom, I told ya he didn't die, he's right there. I am so happy!" I think it is fair to say that even our little ones know what a great man he was.
A beautiful testimony! Thank you so much Kelly.
what a nice post kelly. I love reading his testimony--it makes me want to strive harder to be better.
