I have had no desire to blog or do much of anything in the past week or so but with a large family I feel like I have to at least do a little. And that is what I seem to be doing... as little as possible while making sure everyone is fed and clothed. We have had a lot going on the past 10 days. My mom's passing, Jake's surgery the day before we left for Utah (we couldn't reschedule because we would have had to wait till Nov. and it couldn't wait), Isaac's swollen lymph that resulted in getting a fatty antibiotic shot, a 4 day trip to Utah for my mom's funeral, Sam's birthday (not too fun to have a birthday on your grandma's funeral day) , Eli's split open eyelid, follow up doctor's appointments which continue into next week, worry for my Dad (he's very capable but he and my mom were married for 60 years & now he's alone), occasional bursts into tears for missing my mom (this, I'm sure, will last for years), worry about all my kids, sleepless nights for many reasons and just the basic care and feeding of all of us. Anyway, we are all doing okay considering how busy our lives are. Sam has planned his own birthday party for this evening and it should be fun. I am working on Brooklynn's room decor with Joyce (all in my mind right now) and it will be fun to help them get settled in their new home. I will try to get motivated to blog more regularly but don't hold your breath. I've had so many thoughts of things I'd like to share and so many things that have taken place this summer but it will have to wait until I have more time. The care of my family is most important.

kelly i have tears in my eyes reading your post. I am so sorry for your loss and all the many things that are going on at your house. Doesn't it seem like when it rains it pours? Let's do lunch next week. I am available any day, call me, or I'll try you again.
And I REALLY wanted to talk at church today. Pesky callings- getting in the way of my social life! :)
My in-laws just went home, so I can breathe again, at least a little. I've got to go get school supplies. Can I pick up a bunch of stuff for your kids and save you a trip?
