Last year I wrote a letter to Jake that was given to him at Youth Conference. It was about his value as a member of our family. I also included personal things about him that impressed and amazed me. One of them was that I think he has a talent for languages. Last year he took Spanish 1 and got an A+. He tutored some of the other kids and it seemed like he spoke spanish all the time. Even all summer! He was always asking David "How do you say _____?" He took every opportunity to speak to someone who "knew" the language. And he used and remembered what he learned. Well, this year he is in Spanish 2. Again, he is tutoring. The last two days he received 13 participation points because he always has his hand up with the answer. So, yesterday his teacher had him write a paragraph about himself and his family. She was pretty impressed and is moving him to Spanish 3. Next year he is excited to take AP Spanish and get college credit for it. (If he passes the test). Now he asks David "Do you know how to say______ in Spanish?" Then Jake is ready to tell David the answer. He thinks other languages would be as easy for him as Spanish seems to be. I really do think he has the knack, Nuestro Muchacho espanol!Wednesday, September 12, 2007
