These are words from one of my favorite Halloween songs that Mrs. Fendius taught me in Kindergarten. Isaac was also taught a verse of this song in preschool by Miss Michelle. A total flashback!

So, these are the D boyz ready for HaLLowEEn FuN. Jake was going to dinner & a party with friends, Sam went to a friend's party, Thomas hit the streets trick or treating with his buddies & Adam went trick or treating with his bestest friends. Isaac, Eli & "The Mom" walked around the block while David greated our candy hungry guests.
Jake- Peter PanSam - Pumpkin faced scary guy in black
Thomas - Skeleton jail guy with knife in head
Adam - Disco fever - He was wearing a mask like Thomas' and was going to be "disco's dead" but I just could hand the fact that disco could ever be dead. Anyway, I guess Thomas taught him a little dance to go along with his "trick or treat to the disco beat, don't you think my costume's sweet" which included a pelvic thrust. Of course, "The Mom" doesn't find out about this until after trick or treating. There are so many things "The Mom" doesn't know!
Isaac - Knight
Eli - Cutest Clown ("The Mom" wore it 44 years ago- see below)

"The Mom" at age 2

Decoration Favorites
Decorating sugar cookies is a Halloween tradition from when "The Mom" was a little girl. Loving the 8 shrunken heads on sticks in the yard to represent "The Crazy 8", of course. Old mixed with new. Handcrafted mixed with store bought, scary mixed with fun - I love all the decorations!

The boyz look great in their costumes! It sounds like they all had fun! I also love all your Halloween Decorations!!
The wreath on the door is my favorite. It is huge! It is corn husks dyed orange. Another new thing this year was the pumpkins I made from dryer vent hose. Unfortunately, there were a few craft projects that went unfinished so I'll just pack them up until next year :(
We sang that song in Primary. I still have Helen Markham's handwritten music to it, my favorite Halloween song. You make cookies! I never carried on that tradition, strangely, being the cook/baker. Can I come next year? You make the best sugar cookies, Kelly!
Costumes look great, guys!
Adam's costume was by far my favorite!! Where did you find that Saturday Night Fever getup. I love the song that went with it as well!
This is such a historic post! I love the picture of you in the clown costume!
I made the disco suit for jake several years ago. Sam has also worn it. It will be one of our family classics.
Chele...plan a time to come & we'll make cookies. Or maybe I should bring the boyz up there when they have 2 weeks off for Winter break and we'll make some!
Kelly, you are truly amazing. I don't know how you do all that you do. The boyz look great in their costumes, your decorations are fantastic, baking cookies, cupcakes...I just sit here in fascination and amazement when I look at your blogs. I plan to be on the blogs more often now that I'm working from home (Yippee!), so all of my comments won't be so late. Like this one: "HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!" You are one super-awesome woman, and I'm so happy to be a part of your family. Hope we can see you all soon. Love, Mary XXXOOO
